HAPPY TET 2019 – THE YEAR OF THE PIG

Lunar New Year (as known as Tet) is the most significant festival in Vietnamese culture. It usually takes place around late January or early February. This holiday marks the arrival of spring based on the lunisolar calendar. Each Lunar New Year is designated as the year of one of the twelve Zodiac animals, and this 2019 is the year of the Pig.

There are a lot of customs practiced during this important celebration such as ancestral worship, wishing New Year’s greetings, giving lucky money, visiting relatives and friends and family reunions. Tet Holiday symbolizes the admiration and gratitude of the Vietnamese to Heaven and Earth and demonstrates their aspiration for a life of plenty. It is also seen as a chance for a fresh start and a better year ahead.
